‘Cheadle Royal Hospital; A Bicentenary History’ by Nesta Roberts
My Great Uncle Walter Everett and his brother, Thomas Everett both worked as Gardeners on the estate gardens. I am trying to write a book on the fascinating lives of both men and wondered if there any articles or information from the early 1910 – 1920s about the Asylum or indeed the staff. I believe Thomas fell in love with a lady called Ellen who was a milk maid, possibly on site. Did they have a farm or dairy on site.
Are there any publications about the Asylum?
Many thanks,Lois
